Jon Seaton
Art is a vehicle through which we can challenge the perception of our environment. What we may perceive as objective truth can often be renegotiated upon further investigation. The subtle and fundamental workings of the world are often taken for granted within a culture of quick succession, and our eyes have only scratched the surface.

Jon Seaton has an acute fascination in raw perception, and the concept of unmediated experience. His work often materializes out of a physical and psychological questioning of the nature of object hood. With an interest in the process of perception as a two-way conversation, Jon is keen on open eyes and open minds, lending to a multifaceted studio practice. Influenced by the dynamic California landscape, on which he was raised, Jon utilizes a sensitivity for the nature of material alongside a multitude of traditional art making and industrial fabrication methods in the hopes of encouraging others to fine tune their perception of the world.

Jon lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He received his BFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2007.
